Friday - RMS & peak

Friday Night (saturday Morning) 3am

RMS & Peak
MS (Martyn Harler) has been playing on the breaks scene since 2005 at various festivals and clubs nights around the country. Being a child of the seventies, Mart grew up on Jean Michel Jarre and got into Dance Music from an early age, and came from a Drum & Bass background, where he had DJ’d in the mid to late nineties.

In early 2008 Martyn met Adam Goodlet, a talented psy producer (re:creation) and they quickly realized that although their styles were different, there was certain chemistry when behind the decks together.

Together they formed as 'RMS & peak' and set about fusing their styles and found a combination which complimented each other in the studio; What was born was a concophany of chunky breakbeats, acidic twisted elements and dark psychedelic undertones. After a number of successful gigs, 'RMS & Peak' had established themselves as a credible breakbeat act.

RMS & Peak have played in clubs all over the country, at major UK festivals including Waveform and Antiworld - and their club nights continue to grow in popularity across the South Coast.

The boys have a number of tunes which are to be released 2009 including a collaboration with model101 with a Far Too Loud remix on the flip.

2009 is certainly a year to watch out for RMS & Peak!!

About Me

My real name is Dr Martin James... I'm a senior lecturer in Popular Music Studies at Southampton Solent University. Before I became a crusty academic I spent 17 years writing about electronic music and trawling the darkened recesses of the world’s dingiest clubs in search of the perfect beat for magazines like Muzik, Mixmag, DJ, 7, Generator, Wax, Mixer, Urb and Sweater. I've also written some books on dance music like: • State of Bass : Jungle - The Story So Far (Box tree/ Macmillan – 1997) • Prodigy – Adventure with the Voodoo Crew (Ebury - 1997) • Moby – Replay (IMP - 2000) • Prodigy Revisited (Sanctuary - 2002) • Fatboy Slim- Funk Soul Brother (Sanctuary – 2002) • French Connections – From Discotheque to Discovery (Sanctuary – 2002) That's it really MJ PS I think I may have found that perfect beat in a grass hut on an Indonesian island paradise called Babi Besar.
